Alexa+ Skills offers brands a new way for consumers to interact with your brand to book appointments, buy products, answer questions and much more.  The new Alexa+ Skills system has a number of different ways to integrate with your existing website, app, or APIs.

This new system of Alexa+ Skills allows you to develop much faster and more cost-effectively. This is because these skills use existing infrastructure and content from your website or APIs.

There are three types of development methods for Alexa+ Skills that we offer at Rabbit & Pork – read on to find out more.

Alexa AI Action SDK

For this development method we connect your existing APIs to the Alexa+ Skills. This allows us to use your existing APIs that may be public or private which Alexa will use to drive the conversational experience. Content that is in the API will be used by Alexa, for example, that might be a list of products or times when a user can book.

Account linking can be used so that users can connect to their existing account they have with your company and payments could also be taken

Alexa AI Web Action SDK

Don’t have an API? We can use your existing website and content to complete the task. Here we work to train the system on how to navigate your website and complete tasks you want to cover in your Alexa+ skill.

Alexa AI Multi-Agent SDK

Multi-agent SDK allows you to use an assistant that you have already developed to handle the conversation. You may already have a custom LLM or chat bot on your website: here we are able to connect to that experience you have already invested in.

Workshop and creating a use case for voice

What experience do you want to offer your consumers? What content and features do you have via API and your website? Explore the key conversations and conversion paths that you want to cover.

1. Alexa+ Skill Design: How should the conversation go, we create sample conversations to train the skill as a guideline. What persona should the skill have, a new one or take an existing persona for your brand.
2. Alexa+ Skill Development: We create the skill using either the Alexa AI Action SDK, Alexa AI Web Action SDK, or Alexa AI Multi-Agent SDK.
3. Alexa+ Skill Testing: Testing the skill can be done manually and with automation
4. Alexa+ Skill Submission: We then submit the skill to Alexa to be approved. Ongoing we report back on usage and improvements to make.

Above is the typical implementation however we are flexible in approach to projects. This includes creating prototypes, training, and adapting to your internal development teams.
