Google uses several different sources of information to provide voice search answers. Since 2018 we have been running voice search ranking reports on the Google Assistant for over 15,000 key phrases every four months.

For each voice result we categorize into a different result type. This blog post lists all the different voice search result types on the Google Assistant. Similar result types are grouped in tables. There can be slight variances on types e.g. ABR, Short ABR and Short ABR & link to App.

We’ve included an example key phrase, example response and the data source of where Google pulls this information.
